Montessori Toddler Time - Fall 2024

Join Andrea Rossick, Sunrise Head of School, to learn about the Montessori method of teaching for young children.  Andrea has been working in the Montessori field of education for more than 30 years and will offer guidance, support, and answer questions about the Montessori approach.

You will gain new insights into how you can optimally support your child’s development, with weekly topics such as:  fostering independence, toilet learning, guiding decisions/choices, language acquisition and preparing the home environment for your active explorer.

You will be with your child as they work with the Montessori materials, enjoy arts and crafts, join circle time, learn to serve themselves snack and play with other toddlers.  Additionally, you will learn how children develop fine and gross motor skills, build upon daily experiences, and why it is important to allow children to "try and try again" during this very important "I do it myself" stage in their life.

You are encouraged to ask questions as you learn tips on how to support and encourage your child and gain insight into how the Montessori method fosters lifelong learning. This is a great opportunity to experience “Montessori in a nutshell.” You and your child will experience an overview of the typical Montessori daily activities and learn from an experienced Montessori teacher.
