Head of School - Andrea Rossick
I joined Sunrise in 2016 as the Head Teacher in Classroom A. I have had the honor to work with wonderful colleagues for the past several years and continue to collaborate with them in my leadership role. This past year marks my 23rd year working in Montessori Environments.
I bring 29 years of experience in Early Childhood Education to Sunrise.
My Montessori career started after my son enrolled in a Montessori program in 1999. I began working as an Assistant teacher that same year and my passion and enthusiasm for the Montessori Method and Philosophy developed from that initial experience.
Soon after I enrolled in the Northeast Montessori Institute teacher training program and earned my Early Childhood Teaching Credential. ​I continued working as a Head Teacher for 18 years and I completed the administrative qualifications to receive my AMS Administrator’s Credential.
In my spare time, I enjoy being in nature, tending to my house plants, gardening (both indoors and outdoors) and visiting the beach. I have a special interest in the area of Autism. As a parent of an Autistic adult son, I am passionate in advocating for children and adults on the Autism spectrum. I continue to learn about new methods of teaching and developments in the field.
